Boy Howdy! We had an amazing time at the 2022 TPA Annual Conference & Expo in Austin, Texas. Mark your calendar to join us next year July 28–30, 2023 at the Westin Galleria in Houston! My conference highlights were the education sessions about medical billing, the incredible networking, and the general session featuring my very own Texas State Senator, Charles Perry. I even found a really interesting expo vendor that I might apply to my pharmacy.

During the expo, I took time to ask some TPA-IPA deputies, "Why did you join the TPA Independent Pharmacy Academy?!" Watch the video below.

Now you haven't just heard it from me! We are all in this together and we sincerely hope you will join TPA-IPA if you haven't done so already. We are a group of diverse independent pharmacists with a serious mission to take down the PBM Outlaws, dead or alive. The PBM lobby is fired-up over losing to us last session. It's no secret that we are gunning for expansion of PBM regulation to ERISA plans. If successful, that means our patients and pharmacies could have serious protections in up to 85% of the Texas commercial insurance market. That's HUGE! Joining TPA-IPA provides the resources we need to fund a proven lobbying team to win this shootout. I think that is definitely worth $150/mo.

One word came up repeatedly during the TPA conference, UNITY. The general consensus is we have strong support on our priorities from the legislature, but pharmacy has been it's own worst enemy in past sessions. With hundreds of bills traversing the process every two years, it is important that pharmacy try to speak with ONE voice. To cut through the noise our message needs to be clear and consistent.

To do that we need more deputies! Join today at www.TexasPharmacy.org/IPA
